| Abstract | Drawing on principles of intercultural communication, this presentation examines the practice of the SMILE Project implemented at the Language Institute, Thammasat University (LITU), focusing on how international collaboration can be designed to facilitate students’ academic and professional advancement. The project integrates virtual exchange activities and collaborative discussions with international partners to provide students with opportunities to engage in meaningful intercultural interaction through English. Through structured interactions with international peers, students apply their language skills in authentic communicative contexts while developing intercultural awareness, global competence, learner autonomy, and critical thinking skills. |
